I always play a mix of traditional tango from the golden years and very danceable, not to slow neo tango and non tango songs. It is in my experience that a mix attracts more dancers, more younger dancers and that it loosens the atmosphere a bit. But believe me, also those in favor of traditional tango won’t have to miss out on anything.
